Sweet Sally's Soaps: I am a soap maker living in central PA with my husband, 16 year old son and our wild husky dog Sitka. I guess I have always lived the Handmade lifestyle. My Mom, who was a very creative person, made all my clothes when I was young. She was always sewing or painting or crocheting. I went to art school and studied photography which I have pursued in one form or another, my entire adult life. I came to soap making through my love of cooking, herbs, and essential oils. I have been making soap for the last 6 years. I sell my soaps mostly at craft shows and farmer’s markets. I started my Etsy shop last summer but did little to promote it. This year I have been making a concentrated effort to get seen on line. My soaps are all made using the traditional cold process method, using only the best ingredients available. I think it is important to create an image for your business and the image I am trying to create is natural products that are not only good for your skin but also beautiful to look at. Sometimes people look at my soaps and say they are too pretty to use, but my response is that we should all use beautiful things in our everyday life and besides they are soooo much better for your skin than commercial soaps.
