Cooking with Kids ~Making Cookies using @conagrafoods from @walmart #familymeals

We were really excited to get an opportunity to have a cooking with kids day with our children using all our favorite Conagra Foods purchased at Walmart.  We developed some recipes using these great products:

The first thing we did was go to Walmart and pick-up all the ingredients needed for our recipes. You can see our shopping trip on our whrrl slide show here:

We were so excited to get home and start making our first batch of cookies. We first made a recipe that I developed using Reddi Wip.

Reddi Wip Drop Cookies Recipe

  • 1 jar of Reddi Wip
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lemon cake mix
  • 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. grease the baking sheet with Pam
  3. Beat together the egg and whip topping.
  4. Add the lemon cake mix
  5. Drop the mixture into the bowl of sugar and coat
  6. Then bake for 8 minutes

Next we made some Peter Pan peanut butter cookies. Since Andrew is allergic to nuts Ella had never had peanut butter before. It was an adventure and it worked out great the Andrew was at Grandma's house for the weekend so we could explore this new recipe.

Peter Pan Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

  1. Cream together Peter Pan peanut butter, Parkay butter and sugars.
  2. Beat in eggs
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir into batter.
  4. Put batter in refrigerator for 1 hour
  5. Roll into 1 inch balls and put on greased baking sheet using Pam.
  6. Flatten each ball using a fork, making a criss cross pattern.
  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 10 minutes at 375 degrees

When we were done making the cookies we took the cookies to our local soup kitchen - Someone Cares Soup Kitchen. They were so grateful that we made fresh cookies for them to serve at their next meal service.
