Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Review #weeknightmeals #couchcritics

Tonight we rented Cloudy with a chance of meatballs at the redbox for our family movie night. I have loved the book and often read it with my class when I was a teacher. I was eager to see if the movie honored how wonderful the book was.

I planned another great easy dinner using the Kroger Weeknight Meals website. Since it is Cinco de Mayo week I picked a tex-mex dish from the easy recipe finder. I made a yummy tex-mex casserole that was spicy and yummy!

Kroger Tex-Mex Casserole
Ingredients:
  • 1 pkg. (7.5oz) macaroni and cheese
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 1 can (10oz.) Rotel Original Diced tomatoes & green chilies
Directions:
  1. Prepare macaroni and cheese in a large saucepan according to package (omit milk)
  2. Meanwhile, cook beef and drain off any fat. Stir in tomatoes. Reduce heat to low and simer for 5 minutes
  3. Stir in macaroni and cheese and enjoy!
This is was a really good dish and reminded me of a dish that I had when I was little. It was unique and perfect for Cinco de Mayo!

After dinner we sat down together as a family and enjoyed watching the movie together while eating popcorn. We love our weekly family movie night and often spend more time talking then actually watching the movie. It was such a sweet movie. The kids were rolling on the floor laughing through most of the movie.

Ella's favorite part was when they went into the Jell-o. She also liked when the kids had a birthday and they had ice cream falling down. Andrew's favorite part was also the when they went into the Jell-o. They laughed and laughed!
