"A Summer of Blending" Recipes for Managing Food Allergies & Eosinophilic Esophagitis #Vitamix

Having a son who suffers from severe food allergies has been one of the most biggest challenges in my life. Everything he eats needs to be examined or cooked from scratch. I have spent the past seven years creating and developing special recipes for him.

Then in 2009 we were given a tough diagnosis of Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE). Many people do not know a lot about the disease or how to cure it. When the doctor first told me about EE he said "imagine the foods that his body react to acting like lava going down his esophagus, creating permanent damage."

Andrew has been allergy tested at least 8 times, testing positive to almost all foods. We have worked with many doctors to not cure his allergies, but find a way to manage them. Through his diet I have been hugely successful in helping a lot of his symptoms from the EE.

One of the hardest symptoms of the EE is that he has a lot of pain in his esophagus. I have learned that the more softer foods I serve him, the easier it is for him to eat. I have created 10 new recipes for people who suffer from EE using the Vitamix mixer.

Using the Vitamix mixer I have been able to develop these 10 healthy allergy friendly recipes to help you or your child get the nutrition they really need.

I will be featuring a new recipe here every Monday for the next 10 weeks featuring a new recipe using a Vitamix mixer with detailed instructions on how to make it. We will also feature the recipes on a new website I am working on with another writer: food allergy moms.

We hope that our recipes can help your children to better manage their food allergies and EE. You will also get an opportunity to learn how the Vitamix mixer is an important tool in helping to cook for for children and adults with food allergies and EE.

Vitamix generously donated a vitamix mixer to help us in creating the recipes for our campaign. All our photos, thoughts and opinions are of our own.

  2. Thanks for your blog. I am an adult suffering from EE and I feel like it is ruining/controlling my life. Other people don't get it.

  3. Latex allergy is another quite common, yet often times severe, allergy. The protein contained in the latex rubber is the offender here, and usually leads to an immediate, sometimes very severe allergic more …
