From Toddler to Tween Room Makeover Update #1 #GliddenGallons

For the first part of the room makeover we wanted to build a built in shelf for all of the Andrew's books. Steve started with just a little hole and then there was no going back!

First we started with this to see what was inside...

Then I started biting my nails when it looked like this.....

And I totally had to leave the room when it started looking like this...

Apparently my husband thought this was an episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition (the demolition part of it anyway)

After two nails in his feet and a huge cut on his forehead....he was so proud! The builder was even so kind as to leave us some boxes inside our walls. Now I wonder what else is inside the walls of our house??

You can see this video of Steve tearing out this wall with his bare hands. I think it's time he gets some tools.

Now comes the hard part. This was supposed to become a book shelf and now it looks like another closet. We just have to see how handy Steve is. Can he put it back together? What will we do with this space?

You can read our first post on how the room looked when we started here:

I was compensated for this post as part of a social shopper insights study with #Collectivebias. All my photos, decision to demolish my sons room and opinions are of my own.

  1. Oh my word Shelby! That is such a crazy project! I bet it's going to be amazing. I can't wait to see what you guys do with the room! I finished painting my son's room and put up curtains. Now I just need to paint his dresser and bed and put everything back in his room. I think it's awesome what you guys are doing.
