Craft: Making Decorated Candles

I love making homemade gifts. They are always so much better than something you can purchase in the store. The kids Grandparents were celebrating their Anniversary this past weekend and since we have been so busy I had not gotten a chance to make anything yet. I was surfing the Internet this weekend and remembered how much I love reading Ladies Home Journal. After only spend a few minutes on their website I found the craft for these adorable candles. It inspired me to make them only a little different.

We went to Target to get the supplies. I know Target! I felt a little confused in Target since I mostly shop at Walmart, but found the selection was just as good. I got two white candles at Target and found these adorable buttons at Walmart.

Then Ella and I came home and started decorating the candles with these cool looking buttons. We used a hot glue gun and simply glued the buttons on the candles.

It was super easy and fun! It was a great bonding experience or both Ella and I too!

Now we have these beautiful candles to wrap up for their Grandma. I can't wait to see if they glow different colors when they are lit up.

While on the Ladies Home Journal website I noticed that they are also having a personal essay contest. I love love love to write and can't wait to enter it. If you love to write I highly recommend that you enter it too!

I was compensated for this post as part of a social shopper insights study with Collective Bias. All my photos, thoughts and opinions are of my own.
