Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train

The Irvine Park Railroad Christmas train has been a favorite family tradition that we have celebrated over the years. Enjoy learning about our favorite holiday family tradition in a recent article published with OC Moms. This year we went to the Irvine Park Railroad earlier in the season than we normally do, and when it was still light out.
We took the first train out of the depot towards the North Pole. While riding the train toward the North Pole, the sun started to set creating a magical experience for our family.

Once we got off the train, we enjoyed some time with our favorite Santa. The kids whispered into Santa's ears what is on their lists this year. Santa was even so sweet to tell Tyler that he cannot bring live animals on the sleigh...phew! (Mom thanks you Santa!)

After visiting with Santa, we were able to purchase professional photos for only $10 each. There was also a cute little snack shack to get warm hot chocolate, cookies or popcorn. The children sipped on hot cocoa while admiring all the lights and decorations.

It was a quick hop back on the train to Santa's Village. Santa's village was a true winter wonderland. There were fun games for the children to play, cookies to decorate, bounce houses to jump and story-time with Mrs. Claus.
It was a memorable way to start off the holiday season. We ended the evening by going to Grandma's house for a festive birthday dinner for Mommy. We warmed up with delicious homemade soup, birthday cake and good company.
