Family Day in The Park #ParkRazorCrush

Last night we packed a picnic dinner and went to The Great Park to enjoy some family time together. Razor was at the park with all their cool new scooters for kids to ride and "test out" hosted by Blog Crush.

They had the popular spark electric razor scooter that was a huge hit with my kids. The kids can speed around on this cool hip scooter and leave a trail of sparks behind them. This scooter would be the hit of any street, creating it's own fireworks show.

Razor had even brought a chalk scooter. It is a scooter that leaves a trail of chalk! At the end of the evening there was a trail of colorful chalk marks all around the park.

We had a nice relaxing picnic dinner together. The park is such a clean and beautiful place to go with your family. There are so many great things for the children to do together. There is a carousel, balloon rides and even a skate park.

All the kids at the park had brought scooters, bikes and roller blades. After dinner all the children had a fun evening riding around the park together. They had an opportunity to spend time with old and new friends. During the evening Razor hosted a fun scavenger hunt around The Great Park. They first started the hunt using Twitter and it was adorable watching the kids run around with their parents phones attempting to use Twitter to find the clues. I love seeing children embrace technology. For the second half of the scavenger hunt the children got the clues from the loud speakers. As they would announce the clues, the children would all go running off together trying to find the prize.

The kids even worked together trying different strategies on what the next clues were going to be. It was great to see a huge group of children using team work together. They had a blast!

When the evening was ending we were offered a wonderful opportunity to go up into the giant orange balloon. We rushed over just in time to catch a ride, but YES! I chickened out. Andrew tried to beg me to get over my fear of heights, but we agreed that first I need to get over my fear of the Dumbo ride first before attempting the giant balloon.

Tyler and his buddy Mason finished the evening flying airplanes together around the park.

 And became instant Best Friends.

We will have a summer of fun using our Razor scooters.

Summer of Blending - 5 Ingredient Tomato Soup #Vitamix

Tomato Soup is the perfect summer dinner along with a nice fresh slice of homemade bread. Many tomato soup recipes have a long list of ingredients. We have created a simple five ingredient tomato soup that can be made in less than five minutes using the Vitamix.

Since I spend so much time in the kitchen preparing meals for my allergic child, my children take an active part in cooking with me. It is such a wonderful bonding experience and helps to teach them many skills. The Vitamix is a very easy machine to use and operate that even my children can use it. Ella helped me make this yummy fresh and easy tomato soup in the Vitamix.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Roma Tomatoes
  • 6 Basil leaves
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 3 Tbl. Olive Oil
  • 1 Sweet Onion
Directions:
  1. Mix all of the ingredients well in your Vitamix machine until smooth and creamy
  2. Warm on the stove for 15 minutes
  3. Serve warm with a fresh slice of bread

Preparing for Blogher Week #6 Proofing Your Materials #Print4Blogher

By now most everyone has already ordered their materials to bring to Blogher. If you have not, The UPS Store can get you your materials made quickly. Before you order your printing materials it is important to proof everything. Nothing is more disappointing than ordering materials and then noticing a typo after you have received them.

I recently ordered my business cards at The UPS Store. They helped me to custom design my cards and also helped me find the best places to put my information on the cards. The owner of the store where I went showed a lot of pride in the work he did for me and the result was amazing. You can see how my cards were designed in this article here.

When creating your business cards
  • Make sure they easily identify you
  • Make them easy to read
  • A Great design will stand out!
  • Ensure they are standard size business cards.
Information to include on your business cards:
  • Your name/business name/logo
  • Blog URL and email address
  • Social media information
  • Phone number
  • Address (If you are concerned about the safety of sharing your address you can get a PO Box at The UPS Store that will have a real street address)
  • Photo of you
  • Optional QR code
After you have designed and created your card it is time for proofing. If you order your business cards at The UPS Store, they can also help you with proofing.
  • Read, Read and Read aloud your information
  • Be consistent in your capitalization
  • Have someone else read and proof read them
  • Read them backwards to check for misspelled words

Making Business Cards for Blogher #print4blogher

This week the kids helped me to prepare my business cards for the upcoming Blogher Conference. We chose The UPS Store in Laguna Woods to go use their printing services. I am the most indecisive person ever, so I was hopeful that the owner was going to help me make the best choices.

When we walked into the store it had to be one of the nicest The UPS Store locations I have been in. It was clean and neat. Everything was easy to find and the kids felt right at home.

Did you know that if you get a PO Box at a The UPS Store location that it will have a real street address? Then your sender will not know they are sending your mail to a PO Box.

The UPS Store does color copies, portfolios, business cards and all of your printing needs.

The best thing about The UPS Store is that they are privately owned and operated. That means that they put a lot of care and detail into your order and the way you get treated as a customer. When I came into the store the owner set my children up in the back of the office with markers and paper so I could work with him without any distractions.

He even let Tyler hold his collectible plane and did not even get mad at him when he broke one of the wheels off of it.

I brought in my current business card, a copy of a business card I was recently given that I liked, my photos on a flash drive and they did the rest. The owner spent almost two hours designing the card with me. He really helped to guide me to make the best choices and created a unique and awesome looking card.

While we were working he took time to give my children a lot of attention as they kept bringing him pictures they had drawn for his store. He was so patient and kind. After I left I got follow-up emails and phone calls with samples of the final work along with different price quotes. We went over the different options and I returned to the store to see a sample product before I gave the ok to start printing.

We returned after grocery shopping next door eager to see what the cards would look like in person. I am such a visual person that it is sometimes hard for me to picture something online. I love to touch and feel what the final product will look like.

I loved the final product. I could tell that the owner had put a lot of work into designing the card. I was a little worried about using my photo because I recently colored my hair, so he made a sample in black and white for me to look at too. Since I change my hair color so frequently it could possibly be dark again soon so we selected the color cards.

And the inside is pretty awesome too! With a QR Reader that goes right to my website!

I can't wait until they come in! It should only take about 5-7 business days and I will have 1,000 new cards! If you are planning on going to Blogher I highly recommend you getting your cards at The UPS Store. If you are local in Orange County come to Laguna Woods and visit the location I went to, and you will not be disappointed.
