Tax season is stressful. Owning my own small business makes it even more stressful. The one key element that I have found to take the stress out of tax season, is the be organized.
I once did my own taxes, until we found the most extraordinary person to do all the hard work for us. Although, we have an accountant to do our taxes I will still need to spend hours organizing paperwork and making lists.
My desk has been majorly un-organized lately, so I spent the day working on organizing it. I had to get rid of the clutter and get some new supplies. One tool that we needed badly in our house was a new pencil sharpener. It's hard to believe that after homeschooling my daughter for the past seven months that we have survived without one.
My office is located right inside my kitchen. I love that I can work in-between cooking and taking care of the kiddos. I am doing a slow transition in my kitchen to make everything black and red. I just got a new red coffee maker, and hoping to get more red appliances soon. With my office being located in the kitchen, I wanted to get red office supplies to match.
Ella and I went to Walmart one evening together to see what we could find. We found some super cute red pencils, an awesome red X-ACTO electric pencil sharpener, and we got a red cup to hold all our new pencils. We were even able to save money on the pencil sharpener by using a coupon from online.
When I got home, the organizing begun. This was my office before we started...
and the new organized - tax ready office!
