I grew-up loving french toast as a child. I was playing around with my regular recipe this morning, and decided to try making it a little different. My favorite thing about cooking is trying new ingredients, and testing out new flavors.
The result was fantastic! The children loved my new french toast recipe, and kept coming back for seconds.
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup non-fat milk
- 2 Tbl. of honey
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 tea. of cinnamon
- 1/2 tea. of vanilla
- 2 Tbl. butter
- 4 slices of fresh homemade bread
Mix all the ingredients (except the bread and butter) in a stand mixer.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. After the butter has melted, dip the sliced bread into the egg mixture. Then cook the bread on the pan for about 5 minutes of each side.
Serve with fresh fruit sprinkled with powdered sugar!
