My kiddos love doughnuts, but what I learned is that they love them even more when Mommy makes them. Last week I got this nifty little doughnut pan, thinking it would be yet another clutter item in my kitchen that I would probably never use. Boy was I wrong!
Instead of doing our normal Sunday visit to Starbucks, I made my first batch of doughnuts. Since I was not very familiar with making doughnuts, I purchased a kit at Sur la Table for my first attempt. I skipped making the chocolate glaze, just to avoid any extra sugar.
I just mixed the all-natural ingredients with eggs, and within a few minutes we had doughnuts. The neighborhood kids came over, and they all gave it two thumbs up! The only downside was that there were crumbs of doughnut all over my house.
This weekend, I am going to attempt to make them from scratch, now that I am comfortable using the pan.
Nothing can brighten up my day better than a smile on my kiddos face, from something that came out of my oven.
OMG I'm seriously going to go out tomorrow and buy all of this!
ReplyDeleteI hope your kiddos enjoy them!
DeleteShelby, where did you buy the donut maker? At sur la table?
ReplyDeleteYes, and it was not super pricy. It was about $6.
