Going for a cover up free summer
I love food. I am not afraid to admit it.
I cook healthy, but since I became 30, some major changes have been happening to my body. My metabolism came to a screeching halt. I have to watch every little calorie or I will find the added calories hanging out on my hips the next morning.
After giving birth to Tyler, I gained over 130 pounds from being on 16 weeks of hospital bed rest. That was the last time I saw my size 2 body.
With age comes changes. I love the way my body is changing with age, although I know that I can work harder at taking better care of my body.
I will fight to get my old body back, and do whatever it takes. I will rock this summer without a cover-up, and not be afraid to show it anymore.
While in Florida, this week, I wore my favorite swimsuit that somehow now looks like a postage stamp on me. Instead of purchasing a new swimsuit, I am going to lose weight to feel good in my suit again. If I purchase a new suit, I will not be as motivated to get in shape.
What am I going to do? I am going to stop the crazy yo-yo dieting that I kept doing with my best friend (who decided to go get pregnant). I am going to start using My Fitness Pal religiously. (Not just when I feel like it). I am going to go workout at the gym at least 4x a week - for at least an hour. (With no excuses!)
I will also be sharing all my recipes here on the site. If you want to follow my journey, subscribe to my newsletter for all the recipes. You will be one day behind me only because I cannot post my recipes until the evening.
I will be rocking my weight loss challenge along with some other great women who came together for the #iwillrockthis challenge. Join in the conversation happening on Twitter & rock your body this summer too!

I'll be checking in for your recipes! We can do this!
ReplyDeleteThanks! We are going to rock this challenge!!
DeleteSeriously!!! I am just going to sit on your back porch and wait for scraps!!! Don't be worried if you hear scratching at the door! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! Love it!
DeleteI've tried frying and eating the fat off of my own body but it REALLY HURTS! I will watch your progress with baited breath.
ReplyDeleteIf only it was that easy ;)
DeleteGo Shelby! Looking forward to the recipes that are to come! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am seriously excited...oh and a little hungry at the moment.
DeleteI feel your pain! I started my new program about a month ago and it's not easy! Good for you for rockin it!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's good to hear that I am not alone. It's never been easy since having Tyler.
DeleteYou are definitely not alone. I want to eat my screen. I love food - a lot!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! 130lbs is really impressive amount of weight in your pregnancy! I DOUBLED my weight in pregnancy (Preeclampsia made me go from 90lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy to topping off at around 180 of fluids...I almost died...okay this is depressing....but the weight was funny)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you know what is right for you. Go with what is healthy for your body and not weight. The grass is always greener. I would gladly trade my prepubescent boy shape for one much voluptuous. As long as your healthy that is what matters. But just for the record- you really do look great.
I dream of a cover up free summer....sadly I have stretch marks and a bump that looks like I'm still pregnant....I want to try though...to get rid of these last 10 pounds....You can do it Shelby!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! I'm glad to hear the news.
