Indian Potato Recipe

Thanksgiving is just days away, and we cannot wait to spend time with our family surrounded by good food. Recently, I have enjoyed exploring new Indian recipes, and this week is the Indian Festival of the Lights Celebration. In honor of the celebration, I will be making this Indian potato recipe this year at Thanksgiving. I hope that you enjoy making it too!



  • 24.69 oz boiled potatoes 
  • 10 Curry Leaves 
  • 6 Tbsp. Oil 
  • 5 Tbsp. Cilantro 
  • 4 tsp. Sugar 
  • 2 Piece Green Chili 
  •  1 tsp. Cumin Seeds 
  • Add Lemon To Taste 
  • 1/2 tsp. Red Chili Powder 
  • 1/4 tsp. Asafotida 
  • Add Salt To Taste 
Directions Preparation:

  1. Cut the Potatoes into small cubes. 
  2. Chop the Cilantro very finely. 
  3. Cut the Green Chili into small pieces. 
  4. Heat Oil in a pan. 
  5. Add Cumin Seeds to it & let it crackle. 
  6. After Cumin Seeds start to crackle add Asafoetida & Curry Leaves. 
  7. Add Potatoes simmering ingredients you will hear crackling sound. Then lower the heat. 
  8. Add Green Chili, Salt, Sugar, Red Chili Powder & Chopped Cilantro. 
  9. Mix all the ingredients well. Cover the pan & let it cook for 3-5 Min. 
  10. Remove it from the burner & put it a side.. 
 Garnishing: Garnish it with Chopped Cilantro.
