This was my 15th year making Thanksgiving dinner for my family. I love preparing a feast for my family, and then spending time together around the table. This year I did dinner a little different by making all my dishes (with the exception of the turkey) in a slow cooker. It made dinner so easy to prepare, and was the most stress-free Thanksgiving ever.
The kids and I woke-up early and set the table together.
Before all of our guests arrived, Steve and I, attempted to do a champagne toast. We have not had champagne in years, and when we busted out the bottle that had been in our cupboard for the past ten years we learned that it had spoiled. After taking a small sip and spitting champagne across the room, we laughed and then toasted anyway.
We had a spread of appetizers that could have been a meal in itself before digging into the big 15 pound turkey.
The best part about Thanksgiving was having Grandma with us. She has had some health struggles over the past year, and we were so blessed that she was able to be with us this year. She even got her hair done & was looking gorgeous.
What would Thanksgiving be without olive fingers?
I sat back and watched three generations of women in my family help prepare the table. It was at this moment that I reflected on all the blessings in my life. My biggest blessings is my family that helps support me as a mother and wife every day. Without the support of my family - I could never be successful as a parent. I am so grateful.
I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving cherishing special moments together.
