Holiday Gifts for the Military: Paint Swirled Ornaments #GluenGlitter

It is time for the holidays, and we could not think of a better gift to make than one for the troops. With my father a retired Marine, and both my cousins currently serving overseas we made some memorable crafts send to the troops this year as our way of saying, "Thank you for our freedom."

We made a couple of crafts this weekend, and will be packaging them to be sent overseas on Monday morning. We hope that you and your children join us, in taking a few minutes to thank the Men and Women of our military. They are making sacrifices every day, for us enjoy time with our families in peace this holiday season. Just a small sentiment of a homemade craft means so much to the troops serving overseas.

Before we got started on our crafts, we went to Walmart to purchase all our craft supplies. You can enjoy seeing the photos from our shopping trip in the Google Plus story.

Swirled Painted Ornaments

Supplies needed:

  • Clear glass ornament balls
  • Red, white and blue paint
  • Red, white and blue Elmer's Single Painters
  • Ribbon
Directions:

First add a liberal amount of paint to the glass ornaments.

Then cover the top with your finger, and swirl the paint around inside of the ornament.

Then use Elmer's Single Painters to decorate the outside of the ornaments.

Lastly, ship them off to the troops this holiday season.
