Multi-Cultural Holiday

We have always encouraged our children to learn multiple languages. I grew-up speaking English, Spanish and Japanese. This year, Andrew is learning mandarin, and doing such an amazing job. It is such a natural language for him - much more than German was for him last year. Yesterday, he came home and sang jingle bells for me in mandarin - proud mommy moment. It is going to be a multi-cultural holiday in my house with Tyler learning Italian, Ella learning German and Andrew learning mandarin.

Wreck-it-Ralph Meets Frozen

Did you like Wreck-it-Ralph? If you did, then you are going to be so excited about this news.

One of the screenplay writers from Wreck-it-Ralph, Jennifer Lee, was just announced as the director of Frozen. Frozen is scheduled to be released on November 27, 2013 as a full-length animation feature.

“Frozen” producer Peter Del Vecho says the match-up is perfect. “Jenn has a real connection to the film and creates dynamic and relatable characters. Her sense of comedy, adventure and story structure paired with Chris Buck’s vast experience and incredible instincts create an ideal situation for this film.”

Wordless Wednesday: Christmas in California

This week, I brought the kids to the Montage Christmas tree lighting ceremony. After the lights came on the elaborate Christmas tree, snow fell over the resort.

Protect the Club Penguin Island From Destruction

I am The Kids are huge Club Penguin Fans. For their weekly video game time, they almost always pick Club Penguin to play. Currently the Club Penguin Island has been under attack, and they are need of more secret agents to help save the island - before it is too late.

The notorious villain, Herbert P. Bear,  has built a solar laser that is taking the sunlight away from Club Penguin. Rumors of Herbert's plan first leaked on twitter when Herbert announced his plans of world domination.

Penguins that want to help save the Club Penguin Island can help by taking special 'Elite Penguin Force' assignments, collect spy gear and more.

This event has been the biggest party of all time with:

Green Screen Holiday Fun at Disneyland

We started our family holiday celebrations this year at The Happiest Place on Earth - Disneyland. While attending a holiday party at Disneyland, we had an opportunity to capture our family memories in front of a green screen. Green Screen photography is a fun was to capture and celebrate any occasion, but at Disneyland it is extra magical..

The kids were able to let their personalities shine while creating their own memories in front of their favorite Disneyland backdrops. These pictures are keepsakes that they will hold close to their hearts for many years to come.

While at Disneyland, Tyler and his friend Josh, became captivated by the new Disney Time Machine Dream Maker. They followed him around the entire evening, and felt it was appropriate to take their picture with him in front of the green screen. Tyler has been sleeping with this photo next to his bed since meeting him that evening. The time Tyler spent with the Disney Time Machine Dream Maker was his magical holiday moment to remember forever.

The magic is continuing all season long at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park until January 6, 2013. Enjoy making holiday memories with your family just as special as these memories we created when visiting Disneyland over the holidays.

What is your favorite Disney holiday moment?

Holiday Doll Party Celebration #PinyponParty

This weekend, Ella had some of her girlfriends over for a doll tea party. Instead of playing with their usual dolls, they played with the new Pinypon dolls. The girls spent hours playing together with their new dolls.

What makes these dolls unique? The kids can mix and match the hair, heads and clothes to create their own custom dolls. The dolls even come with accessories including jewels and purses. The imagination is endless with Pinypon.

The girls had crackers and tea in between their doll playtime. They even played a scavenger hunt game with their new Pinypon dolls.

The party was so much fun that Ella's little brother even joined in on the fun.

The Pinypon dolls are suitable for children ages 4 to 7 years old. The Pinypon caravan adds a new dimension of play for the kids.

Encouraging my children to use their imagination in play is very important to me. Pinypon can help to elevate imaginary play for my children.

Learn more about Pinypons on their website or on Twitter and Facebook.

Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes

We did a lot of cooking this weekend while we were off for Thanksgiving. One of my kids favorite breakfast dishes is pancakes. Since my older son has a food allergy, making allergy-free pancakes can be a lot of work without a box. I have been using an allergy-free mix for years, and it makes pancakes super easy to make.

I love getting my kids involved in cooking with me, and they love being a part of it.

I mixed the pancake mix per the box instructions. For the cinnamon swirl I mixed:
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 2 Tbl. of brown sugar
  • 2 Tbl of cinnamon

I added the cinnamon swirl to the top of the pancakes and viola ~ delicious pancakes!

Enjoy!

I have been bragging on and on about how easy my Thanksgiving dinner was because of my new Ninja Cooking System. Guess What? Now you can win one too. The Ninja cooking system has become my best friend in the kitchen. I have been using it almost everyday to get dinner on the table in a flash.

Granting Holiday Princess Wishes #DisneyPrincessWMT

Last week Ella and I had a special Mother Daughter shopping trip (with a little brother tag-a-long) to Walmart. We had so much fun shopping for new Disney Princess toys for Ella, and to donate to charity. We were inspired to go shopping for Disney princess toys by the Disney Princess Royal Ball App. The app would allow us to unlock more parts of the game while shopping at Walmart.

Together we purchased three of our favorite Disney Princess toys at Walmart. Ella and I had a hard time deciding which toy she was going to keep because they are all so cute.

After much thought, she decided to keep the Disney Princess Castle. She loves playing with minature Disney Princess dolls, so this was the perfect toy for her.

Daddy is the master at putting the kids toys together. He enjoyed how easy this toy went together, and the simple easy to follow instructions.

While daddy was busy putting the castle together, Ella was busy playing with her toys. We both really liked how the clothes went onto the dolls so easy. Sometimes the "rubber doll" clothes can be hard to get on and off. These outfits just snapped right on.

Then Ella and I enjoyed some special one-on-one playtime together. It is the small moments together like these that we will both remember forever.

After we were done playing together, we talked about who we would donate the other toys too. We do a lot of donations to the Orange County Rescue Mission, but Ella really wanted to donate to the Spark of Love Toy Drive.

She has seen the sign at the Fire Station every time we drive by, and wanted to make sure another little princess can have her wish granted on Christmas morning.

She was so excited to be bringing toys to our local fire station. We both know that a little girl will have a big smile on Christmas morning after opening these Disney Princess Toys.
